This blog idea is a great idea!
IF you have time to do it.
I would love to do it and keep it up to date if I had time. I just cant with trying to run my real business and following a 17 yo son around.
Spring has sprung and we have track and starting to practice for baseball which means going to batting cage to hit.
I have a special school board meeting April 1 and a special council meeting April 2 and SW Iowa Shutterbug camera club meeting the same night.
Then the week of April 13 I have regular council meeting and regular school board meeting. Dont feel sorry for me as I signed on to do these things. But that same week we have 4 track meets and I announce at 2 of them and take pictures at another 1, then miss one because of school board meeting the same night.
It is starting to get busy as well. Although today Chuck Vanderheiden and I went to the golf dome in Des Moines and hit a few golf balls. back to getting busy. Got the first lawn seeded on Monday March 30. Was pretty dry overall but damp hear and there. It went well getting the seed in the ground and matted.
Now with moisture it is back to looking at jobs and starting work looked at last fall and finishing some. Gotta finish seeding the Ethanol plant in Menlo and although we have hydro-seeded about 15 windmills near Adair, we still have about 60 left to go.
Well real short about my racing weekend in Beatrice. Windy as hell is the word!!! It sucked Sunday. I still am digging out Beatrice dirt from my ears. i really enjoyed the weekend but feel like it was not completed as I was unable to get to talk to Joren Boyce. He came down and I was running around trying not to miss any pictures and did not get over to chat. I think he left Snday morn to as did not see him at all Sunday.
Also did not talk or see Dave Hardesty. Sorry!! Maybe should not worry so much about the picture as getting to to talk with some friends.
Did get to talk with Justen Yeager so that was nice. Also to Shane Stutzman which is always good.
Meet bergy, Troy Cordes, Chris Burke, Joey Schafer, Jay Goosman, Mr Brack, Jon Snyder, Kyle Krampe and so many others I cannot remember. Team DandyLand is a heck of a nice crew. Oh yea saw Knutsen's too.
I have also gained an admiration of Jay Schmidt. We all know Schmidt Happens but with him it happens with his young son in tow. I have taken a couple pictures of him with Mr Young Son in tow hand in hand. One in Webster and the other one in Beatrice that weekend. Keep them memories and that boy with you as mine at 17 wants nothing to do with dad now unless it is handing over the greenbacks or a new 4 wheeler or something for his f350. THEY GROW UP TOO FAST. Congrat Jay for having him and the rest of your family with you.
I know there are other families with the driver as I always see Kyle Krampes mom at the track and in Beatrice she was in the pits but she is not walking with him holding his hand. Congrats to the people who bring their families as it truly is a family sport.
Overall the weekend was good as I said before somewhere. Good Eats were to be had at the only real meal I had the whole weekend was at http://www.backalleyeatery.com/. It was wonderful. i had a 3 bone rib meal with beans and homemade creamed corn. oh yea they gave me a little cornbread muffin too. Then I had that I can eat anything moment and thought I could eat a slice of peach pie with ala mode after I was full from real meal.
Well it was great bbq ribs and an excellent bbq sauce. the creamed corn that was homemade was just more than I would have imagined it would have been as I have been denied my whole like if this homemade delicasy. I now have made it at my own house now and it was much better than the canned variety you can find on the shelf at your local SUPERMARKET.
Otherwise I dealt with AMigos on Thursday after practice, McD;s on friday after the lights went out in Beatrice. Then on Saturday evening as I just felt I could not take any more entertainment (hint hint) after the races were over, and before I headed back to http://www.newvictorianinn.com/ I sucuumbed to the lovely confines of the Taco Johns of Beatrice. I then went back with my tasty to go meal to the room and after eating and cleaning off the dust I crashed.
Nothing real eventful happened besides the dustbowl at the track on Sunday. I will comend those involved that the races were completed before it raned. To those naysayers who complain about this and that. Well I will say I hear about the driver saying to the fan until you have drove story and then we have to all, until you have promoted then! Well that is as far as I will go.
I got out of Beatrice about 4pm.
Passed 17j, wahoo was behind me. Then on the way to Omaha I went by Racer, Noteboom, Abelson, hamilton county plates, pott county plates, the Jerovitz cars, and a few others . Oh yea Gutowski too.
I had to stop in the in the great town of Council Bluffs. For what you say. Well to eat!!
but before I got there I stopped at QT for a soda I did not need. Counter clerk said you look a little dirty and tired and I handed him my card. Said look at these as I just left Beatrice. His reply of really, I was to go there and help Jeff James the 19j but had to work.
Where at you say? http://www.pizzakingindiana.com/
You have to try this place. One of my top 5 pizzas of all time. Zenos in Marshalltown is the best of all time. Just so you know.
As I was in Pizza King the young lady was waking by and saw me going thru photos on my camera and had to discuss them. She is getting a car this year and her dad (i think) drives a late model. See- racing is everywhere!
Well till next time, which may be a while as am off to Marshalltown on Friday for the FrostyBuster and not sure I am gonna have time for another one before then.
It will keep em coming back for more thinking I may rite and I just might.
I will be getting something out on the Boys State Basketball apperance at The Well also.
Till next Time, Keep your feet on the ground and keep reaching for the stars. Thats not me I will have to think of another one.
